Dear Constituents,

Unfortunately, the newsletter you received yesterday was drafted before the terrorist attack and set to send. As soon as I saw the newsletter in my email, I contacted my staff to say that something should have been said about the attack at the top of the newsletter.

These terrorist attacks and the impact that they have had in Israel and on the Jewish community in Eglinton-Lawrence and around the world have been my greatest concern since the events of October 7th.

Since these indefensible acts of terror, I have attended the UJA Federation of Greater Toronto’s Emergency Rally for the People of Israel, the Canadian Antisemitism Education Foundation’s Rally for a United Israel, and a meeting with the Consul General of Israel and community members with the Premier and Ministers at the legislature.

Below you will find a link to my speech in support of a government motion condemning the ongoing and reprehensible attacks by Hamas against Israeli civilians, and supporting the inalienable right of the State of Israel to defend itself and its people.

I have been deeply fortunate to support, represent, and advocate for the Jewish community throughout my time in office. For as long as these difficult times persist and thereafter, I will support and stand with the people of Israel and the Jewish community of our province.

Signed,
Robin Martin, MPP
Eglinton-Lawrence
